Here's everything you need to know about The Hole In Wand

Q How can I book?

Q How many people can play together?

There is a maximum of 6 Wizards per group. This is to allow an enjoyable experience for other players and prevent the course becoming congested. Unfortunately we are unable to add an extra person and will not allow you to play with a group over 6 Wizards.

Sadly there are no exceptions to this rule and this number includes any under 3’s accompanying your group. Non paying players over 3 are not allowed to accompany the group unless a carer and can wait in our café area if capacity allows with a Wizard who is over 16.

We don't mean to be grumpy wizards, we just want all to enjoy the experience!

Q How long will it take?

An average Wizard golf experience will last around 45 minutes for 2 players and up to an hour for 6 players.  This includes time to get into the venue (usually 15 minutes) and play the 9 holes.

At weekends and during school holidays you may have a longer wait to get into the venue and we will always endeavor to get you in as quickly as possible and at your booked time slot.

Q Can children play?

Minimum age to play is 3, but under 3’s accompanying the group have to be booked in for free.

Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied in their playing group by someone over 16.

Q Can we just turn up and play?

We recommend pre-booking where possible and particularly at weekends and holidays to guarantee the time you would like to play.

We do however always welcome players if we have space and you can pay on the door.

Q Are there flashing lights?

For lucky wizards that get the dragon's egg (ball) into the hole on hole 9, there will be a camera flash. There are warning signs and you can have a chuckle viewing your photo at wand return.

Q Are there confined spaces?

Some holes are smaller than others and those that feel anxious about smaller space are welcome to view before playing.

Q Is there disabled access?

Due to the structure of the building and nature of the course, those with access needs; particularly wheelchair users will not be able to enjoy the full experience and access the majority of holes. Therefore entry will be given for free to those that can't play or access the first floor, you are welcome to sit in the Tavern and wait for the rest of your party.

Unfortunately no wheelchairs are allowed on the first floor due to our fire policy.

We do have an accessible toilet on our ground floor.

Q Can we eat at the venue?

You are welcome to join us in our Tavern serving a limited food menu with hot and cold drinks and snacks including alcoholic drink options for over 18’s, we have 8 seats available in our Tavern area so relax and enjoy some cake and a butterbeer!

Q What happens if we miss our booked slot?

Those that pre-book have an allocated time slot and we allow 15 minutes around your bookings for you to start, if you are running late we will do our best to accommodate you, but nothing is guaranteed and you may have to wait a short while for the next available tee time.

If you miss the day of your slot all together I am afraid there are no refunds but please email us and we will try to help the best we can to accommodate you at a later date.

Q Can we book a birthday party or event at The Hole In Wand?

Yes, we can cater for birthdays and large groups but don’t offer a birthday party package at present. However we are happy to assist with any enquiry, event and full venue hire.

Q Will there be a refund if we are asked to leave?

No, if you are asked to leave for anti-social behaviour or not respecting our venue and fellow wizards there will be no refund available and the duty manager's decision is final.

The Grand Supreme wizard will be forced to cast their banishing spell.

Q Is there any storage for bags and shopping?

We have 12 vaults (lockers) that can be used for wizards wanting to store items, there is a £1 deposit but this is refundable on return of the key.

You can leave buggies at the entrance to the venue at your own risk.

Q Do you offer any discounts?

We already offer magical value, so unfortunately we don't offer a discount, but do have value packages for groups of 4, 5 or 6 Wizards. Remember that every player gets to take home a magical potion worth £3.49

Q Can I reserve a table in the Tavern?

Tables are first come, first served in our Tavern, however if there is a special occasion please send us an email and we will do our best to accomodate you.

Q What if I need to move or cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking for a full refund or move your booking up to 5 days before your booking, you can move your booking up to 48 hours before. There are no refunds or booking changes within 48 hours of your booking. To change a booking please email or visit Bookings can not be changed by phone. You can only move your booking once so please make sure you get the right date you wish to move to. Once the booking has been moved no refunds will be given.

Q Do you allow dogs on the course?

We do not allow dogs around the course unless they are service dogs. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the Tavern at the discretion of the Chief Wizard and we even have a dog bowl and treats!

Q I have left something at The Hole In Wand?
